Cancellations and Missed Appointments

A minimum of 48 hours notice is required when unable to make an appointment. The full fee $127 is charged if less than 48 hours notice is given. Please note that Medicare or health insurance rebates are not applicable to cancellation fees.

Fees and Hours

8am-6pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Magali bulk bills clients, who attend during business hours, who are referred by their GP on a Mental Health Care Plan. Non-bulk billing, private clients pay the $127 fee in cash at the start of their appointment (or bank transfer two days before their appointment), and claim private health insurance rebate with the receipt provided.

To obtain Medicare rebates for psychological services, you need to have a Mental Health Care Plan from a GP. The Medicare claim for the Mental Health Care Plan needs to be submitted prior to your first session with a psychologist and you will need to bring your GP referral and your Medicare card to your first session (see Medicare section below).

To obtain private health insurance rebates for psychological services, you need to ring your insurance company to check your level of cover and the maximum number of sessions that can be claimed.

For Transport Accident Commission, Victims of Crime and Department of Veterans Affairs claims please contact your funding organisation to determine what paperwork needs to be processed by your psychologist at the conclusion of each session. In most cases a referral from a GP is also required.

Medicare

On November 1st 2006 the Better Access to Mental Health Care scheme became available. Under this scheme people with a GP Mental Health Care Plan can be referred to a psychologist for 6 sessions in a calendar year (in some cases this can be extended for 4 sessions up to 10 sessions in a calendar year).
